Check out how to get a discount on your electricity bill through a social program

According to the Ministry of Citizenship, more than 20 million Brazilians are enrolled in the Electricity Social Tariff system. These citizens receive discounts on your monthly utility bills. The size of the discount varies depending on the amount of electricity used in each household.

Therefore, those who use more electricity have less savings. At the same time, those who spend less will have a greater surplus. In all cases, citizens only need to have an active registration with Cadúnico and a monthly family income of at least R$606 per capita.

How does the Social Tariff program work?

It is not necessary to complete a direct application for the project, as is the case with Auxílio Brasil and other social programs of the Federal Government. The Ministry of Citizenship examines the data stored in the lapsed to determine who is eligible for the discount.

Users wanting to join the program had to complete an application through a regional energy agency by the end of last year. However, currently the process takes place a little differently. It is necessary that people enrolled in Cadúnico, and who meet the necessary criteria, wait to enter the program, because it occurs automatically.

However, some people who are enrolled in Cadúnico did not receive any notification about a discount on their electricity bill. This can happen because the information on the platform is out of date. If even after the update you do not receive any notification about the program, you must seek assistance from the Ministry of Citizenship.
