Preparing your coleslaw
To assemble a beautiful and tasty coleslaw, you will need:
Ingredients
- A grated raw chayote;
- Cabbage;
- Tomato;
- Carrot;
- Pepper;
- Salt to taste;
- Kingdom pepper to taste (if you want);
- Oil;
- Lemon or vinegar;
- Onion to taste;
- Olives to taste.
Method of preparation
To prepare your salad, start by splitting the cabbage in half to make slicing it easier. This is because this vegetable has leaves with uneven thickness, that is, one can be thicker than the other. In this way, try to slice the cabbage as thinly as possible with the help of a sharp knife or a kitchen slicer. In this sense, remove the core of the vegetable and rotate it while doing the process of cutting the leaves.
Soon after, separate a vessel and put all the sliced cabbage. Then add salt and pepper, if desired. Keep stirring and add the other seasonings to your liking. When you feel the mixture is homogeneous, set aside.
After this process, cut the pepper into strips and then add it to the salad. Also cut the olives vertically, removing the pits, if any. Then cut an onion into cubes, grate the chayote and add everything to the bowl.
Ready! You can also sprinkle a grated carrot over the salad or add mayonnaise as a dressing for your salad.
