The beer city!
A survey carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) identified the cities with the highest density of breweries in the country.
These cities have become true beer hubs, attracting both artisanal producers and large companies in the sector.
According to Anuário da Cerveja, which is a study that analyzed beer production in Brazil, the number of Brazilian municipalities that have at least one brewery has increased significantly.
Currently, the country has 722 cities that house this type of establishment, an increase in relation to the previous year, when 672 locations were registered.
In fact, due to the constant expansion of the national beer market, several cities are standing out in this segment, and not just one.
At the top of the national ranking is São Paulo, the capital of the homonymous state and the largest city in the country, with 59 registered breweries. This represents an increase over the previous year, when 51 were accounted for.
Interestingly, among the ten most brewing cities in the country, five of them are not capital cities. Nova Lima and Juiz de Fora, in Minas Gerais; Sorocaba and Ribeirão Preto, in São Paulo; and Caxias do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul, have a significant presence in this sector.
