Initially named Canadian Naked, this species only received the name of Sphynx (sphinx, in English) and became popular around the world in 1998. As the sphinxes are monuments of Egypt, this breed was named after the Egyptian cat in Brazil.
The fact that it does not have hair has made this cat the darling of people who are allergic or have a respiratory problem, as it does not spread hair around the house. Typically, these kittens have a few hairs on the ear and tail, almost imperceptible.

Necessary care for the breed
You can already imagine that, because they don't have hair, Egyptian cats demand more attention than other breeds. This is due to the fact that the absence of this coverage makes the skin much more oily, therefore requiring the caregiver/tutor to clean it every two days. To do this, just use some wet wipes indicated for animals or bathe them.
Furthermore, the sun can irritate the skin if it is exposed for long periods. Therefore, it is best to apply sunscreen to the cat and prevent the cat from being in the sun during the hottest hours, such as from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
