In short, the company expects the courses to attract at least 20,000 newly graduated students. These courses are available free of charge for the areas of software engineering and data science. Course content is being developed by Edtech Let’sCodeFrom Ada.
It is also worth mentioning that the company in charge of the company's strategy education, known as Americanas Futuro, aims to hire students right after they finish their courses. A forecast given by the company is that, within five years, approximately 70,000 students should be trained through this project.
At first, this program's training opportunity is offering some courses for free and completely online, with introductory practical classes and also some concepts about data science and software engineering, whether back-end or front-end.
From the second stage, the 200 students who are best evaluated will receive a deepening in both disciplines, reaching a total of 5 months of studies.
The course should take place three times a week, with some simultaneous classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 7 pm to 10 pm. In addition, the program will also have the participation of Google Cloud staff to be able to assist in training students in the second stage, reaching a total of more than 30 hours of exclusive content.
Enrolling is quite simple, you just need to have recently graduated or are about to complete the last year of one of the courses below:
- Statistic;
- Sciences;
- Physical;
- Any field of engineering;
- Mathematics.
At first, this project aims to operate between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, but nothing prevents the company from being able to expand the content to other states in Brazil in the future.
Now, talking about the second stage of the selection, the effort in the initial online training of the participants, using some tests of logic, programming and also mathematics, in addition to a video presentation.
