“Member associations will have until April 21, 2023 to send their expressions of interest in hosting the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup,” the statement said.
The bidding process for the host country of the 2027 Women's Cup will have several phases, including inspections in the candidate countries.
The definitive choice of the venue to host the event will be taken on May 17, 2024, through an open vote during the FIFA Congress.
Brazil will be candidate
During an interview given to the program “Sem Censura”, on TV Brasil, the Minister of Sport, Ana Moser, declared that Brazil is preparing its proposal to host the competition.
According to the Minister, this initiative relies on the collaboration of government entities and organizations linked to football, such as the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
“We are talking with partners, with the CBF and designing a possibility for Brazil to claim the hosting of the 2027 Women's Football World Cup”, she said.
Also during the interview, the minister emphasized that Brazil's candidacy to host the FIFA World Cup Women's Football is a key component of the government's strategy to strengthen women's football in the country.
Other actions in this direction are the increase in the number of tournaments in the modality, the incentive to female participation in the sport and the creation of training centers.
