Christmas season is reminiscent of tradition and one of the most delicious traditions of this period is the much-loved panettone. In this article you will learn how to make a delicious homemade panettone and you will even know the history of this beloved dish.

Firstly, there are numerous legends about the panettone and one of them says that whoever invented the panettone would have been a kitchen assistant for a duke in Milan at the end of the 15th century. Afraid, the assistant decided to invent a recipe using bread dough and ended up mixing several ingredients, baked and served. It was a success and was renamed “Pão Toni”, as the assistant's name was Toni and over time, it ended up being called Panetone.   • 1 kg of wheat flour;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 1 glass of sugar 200ml;
  • Salt;
  • 2 spoons of butter;
  • 250 ml of milk;
  • 50 g of biological yeast;
  • 200 g of candied fruit;
  • 200 g of raisins;
  • zest of 1 lemon;

Preparation:

  1. Mix everything in the blender, except the wheat flour, candied fruits, raisins and lemon zest;
  2. Make a small mound of wheat flour with an opening in the middle and throw the mixture inside, kneading until it is homogeneous;
  3. When you let go of your hands, gather the grapes, fruits and lemon;
  4. Unite the shape and spill halfway;
  5. Finally, wait for it to swell and put it to bake.
