91% of parents report less stress when eating together as a family
This new study of American Heart Association sought to understand the impacts of meal times together for people. For this, an interview was conducted with a thousand adults in the United States, where they were asked what their perceptions were about the importance of having family meals for mental health.
Thus, the results showed that 91% of the parents realized that their family has a lower level of stress when they manage to get together to eat. In addition, 64% of adults mentioned that they would like to have more time to be able to have these meals with the family more often.
In view of this, the Association began promoting a project called #TogetherTuesday, whose Portuguese translation is #Quarta-FeiraJuntos. In this case, the idea is to encourage families to separate at least one day a week to be able to eat meals together, which would clearly require a level of preparation and organization.
Effects against Stress
Increasingly, new research in psychology demonstrates that the level of work and demands our generation deals with has a major effect on our mental health. In this case, the great consequence would be precisely the high level of stress, which can trigger other health problems, such as effects on the heart and brain.
In this context, getting together with family and friends can be a great ally against the chaos we live with every day. Including, the distance we experience can be one of the causes of high rates of psychic suffering. Given this, it's worth considering movements like #TogetherTuesday to rethink the need to meet!
