Little Laura Sofia Gomes and her family live in the state of Pará, and while preparing for her first birthday party, the girl ended up swallowing a nail. Due to some moments of inattention from his parents, this case came to pass.
According to the family's account, Laura was rushed to the hospital on the 23rd of October. The doctors, who were taking care of the case, tried to remove the object endoscopically, but the nail continued to move inside the girl. Finally, the swallowed object ended up in his intestine, with the sharp point facing upwards.

Due to the ingestion of the object, Laura had to be hospitalized for a few days under medical care. It was through the X-ray done on the girl, that the team discovered that the nail was turned with the tip upwards. Luckily, this position ended up facilitating the evacuation of the object, without causing any serious damage to Laura's body.
After four days of waiting and affliction, the object ended up coming out of the girl, to the relief of her parents and family. Even so, Laura still had to stay hospitalized for a longer time, in order to avoid bleeding in the body region and to be monitored by professionals. Until then, the girl's condition is considered stable and poses no risk to her health.
