The states in the North region were the last to receive the antennas. Now the capitals Belém (PA), Macapá (AP), Manaus (AM), Porto Velho (RO) and Rio Branco (AC) also have 5G in compliance with the first phase of Anatel's schedule.
NSA and SA: 5G versions available in Brazil
The signal in question still presents instability and low speed. This happens because the technology works with a frequency of 3.5GHz, which had been showing signs of interference, but which had already been corrected by Anatel on the first Thursday of the month. After the situation was regularized and the licensing fees paid by the telephone operators, 5G was available in all capitals of the country in two standards.
Both are known as NSA and SA.
The difference between the standards consists in the delivery of the signal to the user. Although both have a 3.5GHz connection, the core of the network is intended only for the fifth generation of signal, in 5G SA, while 5G NSA shares the network with 4G technology. Thus, while the standalone 5G signal, or SA, is only aimed at 5G connections, the non-standalone 5G connection enhances the 4G connection by using a higher frequency of connectivity.
How to activate the connection on the smartphone
There is no difference between using 5G signal with NSA or SA technology; however, to access any of the fifth generation connection formats, you will need to be in the signal coverage area, that is, in a city with a 5G antenna. In addition, you must be in possession of a cell phone compatible with the technology in the 3.5GHz frequency.
If the user of smartphone If you want to connect to the 5G network through SA, you must subscribe to a specific mobile phone plan with Claro and Tim operators. At Vivo, just change your SIM card to access 5G. For NSA technology, the user does not need to change the plan contracted with the operator or the chip. All you need is a compatible phone.
