Students miss the period for not proving vaccination
The University of São Paulo (USP) withdrew the grades and attendances of 275 undergraduate students who failed to present their respective proof of vaccination. It was necessary to present the document, with at least the first two doses of the vaccine, so that they were not suspended.
With the return of face-to-face classes in the first half of this year, the faculty only allowed attendance of students and professors who had the complete vaccination schedule in their notebooks, that is, if the student did not present the document, his admission to college was barred. Consequently, these students would miss the first term of the year.
Some of the students who had their attendance and grades removed from the system are presenting proof of vaccination. According to USP, despite having already taken the vaccines some time ago, the students had not proven the situation, therefore, the number of people affected by this necessary measure should now decrease.
Despite the lockdown having ended and Brazilians already returning to their normal lives, if the entry of these students without vouchers were allowed, there would be a great possibility of contagion with the virus in the faculty. Still according to USP, only 0.45% of the 60,000 undergraduate students were affected by this measure.
For the second semester, the university has already determined that proof of three doses of the vaccine against. It is expected that none of the students will be cut off again for failing to submit the vaccination booklet. It is important to remember that, despite being immunized, the chance of contamination by Covid-19 still exists, especially in places where there is a greater circulation of people.
