Among them is the possibility of attending a “story” as soon as the user taps a contact's profile picture. From then on, the application will give the option to open the image or play temporary content.

Despite being new, the feature may seem familiar to users of the twitter. This is because the social network, focused on faster and shorter posts, already had its own version of “stories” – functionality that became known by the Instagram.

The tool, called fleets, worked as a feature of momentary posts that disappeared after 24 hours. Due to the lack of users, Twitter ended activities related to the function on the 3rd of August.

Another social network that has the system of viewing temporary content is Facebook, which is even part of the same company as WhatsApp. Today, when clicking on a friend's profile on the platform, a window appears with the option of seeing the person's photo or stories.

WhatsApp update 2.21.17.5 is available to users in its beta version. That is, its definitive addition to the Status has been released gradually.
