Tesla grew 40% in 2022
Deliveries are significantly closer to the sales that the company disclosed. With this report, there is a great representation of record growth for Tesla, the Elon Musk, which saw sales grow by 40% compared to the year 2021.
FactSet estimates reveal that the last quarter of the year left a little to be desired, as much more was expected. Wall Street had expected the report to come in at 427,000 sales, and estimates were ranged from 409,000 to 433,000. An average of 417,957 were expected for the last three months, totaling 1.33 million deliveries for the full year.
Also in 2022, factories were opened in Germany, Branderburg and Texas, but estimates for each place were not shared. In addition, productions in Fremont, California and Shanghai also increased.
The best-selling model in the last quarter of the year, as Tesla advised, was the Model 3 sedan along with the crossover Model Y, bringing the total to 388,131, while deliveries of the Model X SUV and Model S sedan reached 17.147.
It was an advantageous year for the company, but the big scares caused tension. The Covid outbreaks in China have caused production to be reduced in Shanghai, which may have caused a loss in car manufacturing.
In the last six months of the year, Tesla shares plummeted by 45% and only showed better changes in the last days of December.
When presenting the report to the company's shareholders, Tesla communicated about the significant growth.
“Over a multi-year horizon, we expect to achieve an average annual growth of 50% in vehicle deliveries. The growth rate will depend on our equipment capacity, plant uptime, operational efficiency and supply chain capacity and stability,” he said.
