In addition, it can give access to social networks, streaming applications and, illegally, subscription channels.

How will Anatel fine for those who have TV Box?
With the growth of the owners of this type of gadget, the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) announced that it will start fining owners of TV Boxes not approved in Brazil. It even begins to study measures against those who sell the devices.
Individuals or MEI who have TV Box will be fined R$ 110. It may seem little, but the value increases a lot when we talk about large companies that sell the products. For them, Anatel's fine can reach R$ 30 million.
Since May 27, the agency has been authorized to fine product owners and traders.
For those who only use a TV Box, the situation can be mild. After all, only with a complaint would Anatel be aware that the user has a device at home. However, the use of the gadget can lead the user to commit a crime of copyright infringement and smuggling. In this way, the situation can get much worse.
How will approval be carried out?
Anatel opened a public consultation to define the new rules for TV Boxes. Thus, the folder seeks to contain the piracy made possible by the devices.
To market or use the product in Brazil, the agency must verify that:
- There are factory-installed software or applications that are irregular by Anatel
- There are software or applications that infringe the copyright of audiovisual content
- There are third-party software or applications not available in official stores
- The “root” mode of the equipment can be accessed easily (giving privileges for use and configuration)
