Provided for in the Floor Law 11,738 of 2008, teachers' salaries need to be readjusted every year from the month of January. In 2022, for example, the readjustment was 33.23%, from BRL 2,886.00 to BRL 3,845.00.
The readjustment includes professionals trained in teaching, able to teach classes for secondary education at the basic level. This amount will consider the workload of 40 hours per week for teaching professionals.
This is a readjustment that needs to happen year after year, as guided by the Basic Education Maintenance and Development Fund (

In the last days of the Bolsonaro government, the ordinance announcing the readjustment that was only signed this week by members of the new government had been released. In a note, the National Confederation of Workers in Education (CNTE) had demanded the positioning to carry out the transfers.
