The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a warning about the heavy rains and windstorms in 18 Brazilian states. According to the forecast, rainfall should be between 20 and 30 mm/h or up to 50 mm/day, with winds that could reach 60 km/h.

Therefore, the states that are under Inmet alert are: Acre, Amazonas, Federal District, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rondônia, São Paulo, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Pará, Roraima, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Piauí, Santa Catarina and Tocantins.
Weather forecast for December
Inmet's forecast for the month of December for the Central-West and Southeast indicates rainfall that could exceed 300 mm. The volume will be recorded in some parts of Mato Grosso, Goiás, Center-South of Minas, Northeast of São Paulo and South of Rio de Janeiro. In the north of the states of Goiás, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, rainfall may be below average, with volumes of less than 200 mm.
In the northern region of the country, the rains will occur in the form of showers, with volumes above 80 millimeters in Acre, Amazonas, Rondônia and in the south of Roraima. There is a possibility of thunderstorms, gusty winds and lightning. It also rains in parts of Tocantins and Pará, with the other states remaining without rain and dry weather.
ONorth East will not be affected by rain, with dry weather mainly in the north and east of the region. As announced by Inmet, there are chances of isolated showers in Piauí, Maranhão, and Western Bahia, with the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and gusts of wind.
Finally, the South region once again experiences intense storms exceeding 90 mm, mainly in the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul and in the west of Santa Catarina. In Paraná, the forecast indicates that rainfall could exceed 50 mm.
