The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), a Brazilian body belonging to the Ministry of Education (MEC), launched the public notice for higher education researchers from other countries. Researchers from France and South America will be able to present their projects until May 17th. Learn more as you read.

Partnerships will be between:
- CAPES/MATH-AmSud for Mathematics researchers;
- CAPES/STIC AmSufor Information and Communication Technologies researchers;
- CAPES/CLIMAT-AmSud for climate change researchers.
CAPES will invest R$2.2 million for each of these programs over a two-year period. The projects, in particular, will receive R$438,000 for scholarships and research missions.
According to the announcement, the accepted projects will be nominated in December of this year and, after the deadline, the researchers will be nominated to receive the grants in March 2024.

CAPES/MATH-AmSud: partnership between France and the countries of South America (Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Venezuela): scientific initiation projects for the scope of Mathematics.
In all, the researchers will have their projects evaluated for a period of two years.
CAPES/STIC AmSu: partnership between France and the countries of South America (Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Venezuela). The project will be a study network to investigate the area of Information and Communication Technologies.
CAPES/CLIMAT-AmSud: partnership between France and the countries of South America (Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Venezuela) to create field research projects on climate change in countries involved. To researchers, CAPES announces that all research will follow the same pattern.
All directions, detailed in each program, are present in the notice. The researchers will have access to health insurance assistance, travel assistance and international per diems, as stated in the notice.
