Aneel authorizes new readjustments that should impact 449 cities

Last Tuesday (4), the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) authorized new readjustments in Brazilians’ electricity bills. The decision will impact consumers in 449 cities in 3 more states.

The price of tariffs will readjust up to 10.5%, as of Saturday (8), in part of São Paulo and in the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. The highest adjustment will be for low voltage consumers of Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul (+10.48%) and the lowest for residential consumers of CPFL Paulista (+4.28%).

The value of the electricity bill had already risen 12.6% in March in 4 states and will also rise, between the end of April and the beginning of July, up to 12.5% ​​in 6 more states. The distributor that will have the lowest readjustments is CPFL Paulista, a subsidiary of CPFL (CPFE3).

The agency serves approximately 4.8 million consumer units in 234 cities in the interior of São Paulo, including municipalities in other municipalities, such as Campinas and Ribeirão Preto.

The average tariff adjustment for CPFL Paulista, the country's third largest energy distributor, will be 4.89% (5.44% for high voltage and 4.60% for low voltage). The lowest readjustment will be for residential consumers, who are part of the low voltage (4.28%).

Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul is a company in the electricity sector that operates in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The company will have the highest readjustment in electricity bills. The average increase will be 9.28%, 6.28% for high voltage and 10.48% for low voltage (9.58% for residential consumers).

At Energisa Mato Grosso, the average increase in tariffs will be 8.81% (7.29% for high voltage and 9.45% for low voltage). For residential consumers, the readjustment will be 8.62%.

CPFL readjustments

Aneel authorized an average readjustment of 9.02% at CPFL Santa Cruz in March, including the highest increase among all authorized tariffs in the month (+12.67% for high voltage consumers) and also proposed a readjustment of up to 10% in prices from RGE.

CPFL serves approximately 17.2 million customers in 4 states (Minas, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo).

RGE serves 3.1 million consumer units in 381 cities in Rio Grande do Sul, corresponding to around 65% of energy consumed in the state and serves approximately 7.4 million people in municipalities such as Canoas, Caxias do Sul, Santa Maria and Novo Hamburg.
