Google develops AI tool to help journalists in…
After much speculation, Google has finally announced that it has planned to launch an intelligent chatbot, a direct competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Previously, Google had already developed a Language Model for Dialog Applications, in free translation (LaMDA), which will now be improved for Bard.
LaMDA had gained attention in 2022 due to the comment of one of the project's engineers, who was fired shortly after claiming publicly that he began to believe that the artificial intelligence system was a real person, after all, even jokes system did.
Bard promises quality answers
Now with Bard, Google promises to provide high-quality answers with all the most current information possible. In addition to generic questions, the company suggests some questions that the system is able to answer easily, such as “help planning a party” or “compare two films nominated for the oscar”.
The company further stated:
“We will combine external responses with our testing to achieve high levels of quality, security and grounding in real-world information.”
It has yet to be announced whether access to the chatbot will be via the web, via an app, or both. However, on Wednesday (08/02), the company promises to release more information about Bard.
More artificial intelligence in Google's search system
The company intends, in addition to launching Bard, to increasingly implement Artificial Intelligence in search results, thus being able to provide direct answers instead of several links.
The success of ChatGPT caused the creation of Bard
The success of ChatGPT served as a warning for the company to start moving towards the creation of products that used Artificial Intelligence as a form of conversation.
In addition, Microsoft has already sought to include ChatGPT in the Bing search platform, thus leaving the direct competitor behind.
