A millionaire impact: SpaceX satellite lands on Earth in an unwanted way

Astronomical subjects are increasingly being seen. Recently, one of the mini versions of the Starlink network's satellites fell from space. Astrophysicists said that it was launched more than a month ago and, last Monday, 03, it left orbit and entered the Earth's atmosphere.

This event surprised many professionals in the field. The satellite was identified as number 30062 and belongs to the new generation of SpaceX devices, the company of billionaire Elon Musk.

According to Harvard-Smithsonian University astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell, the satellite returned to Earth's atmosphere. This event took place off the coast of California in the United States.

After all, what happened during the accident?

According to research, the structure of the satellite probably burned during the fall, and therefore, there was no kind of destruction on the surface of the planet. However, there were losses for Musk's company.

As mentioned by the Starlink Insider profile, an unofficial account of the company, the real goal was to reach orbits designated operational after the three Starlink V2 Minis raised their altitudes, while one of them underwent a controlled maneuver of exit.

What was Musk's position in the face of this scenario?

According to Musk, in his statement on Twitter, his company's devices were experiencing some problems, and therefore there would be a high possibility that some satellites would be withdrawn, while others would remain in space for further testing.

Other similar problems have already occurred involving Elon Musk's company, causing millionaire losses. However, the fall of one of the current satellites during a maneuver could indicate operational problems.

Other damages were identified

In February 2022, the company lost 40 satellites at once after a geomagnetic storm passed through. At the time, the damage was estimated at $20 million.

A statement released said that the increase in low altitudes prevented the satellites from exiting safe mode to begin orbit lift maneuvers.
