Streaming services, so current and engaged in the production of original and quality content, have to deal with an old problem: the piracy of this content. In this case, the problem presents itself in another way, just as these platforms are new, so that now piracy is no longer on physical media, but also via the Internet. Topflix
The list of the Motion Picture Association, which represents Netflix, Warner Bros, Disney, Universal and other Hollywood audiovisual production companies, pointed to two Brazilian websites. The first one is the platform. Topflix, which brings together more than 5,000 links to different movies and series that attract millions of viewers worldwide. According to the report, there are approximately 23 million monthly accesses to the site, which contribute to the financial income of this piracy work.
DownloadMovie
The other Brazilian platform on the list is the website DownloadMovie, which gathers download links for the computer. Although the number of movie links is higher on this site, as there are approximately 18,000 links, it has an average of 8 million hits per month. With these numbers, the site becomes the second largest in Brazil in the distribution of piracy.
Sites should be investigated
The document that brings together the list of sites that are most dangerous due to pirated content provides a series of relevant information for investigations. Therefore, it is expected that the responsible bodies of each of these countries outline measures for the effective combat of these platforms.
However, at least here in Brazil, there is not yet, as far as we know, a deeper investigation into these cases. Furthermore, the MPA itself was unable to investigate these sites in depth, as the report points out. After all, it was still not possible to locate the server of these pages, which would be the way to find the criminals. However, depending on the major film and series producers, there will be enough pressure for this list to be taken seriously.
