The report recommendation sent from the UK to the UK Department for Transport was created by the Environmental Audit Committee. The measures taken serve to prevent environmental damage and reduce the consumption of local oil. In one part of the document, it is highlighted that: “the rapid growth in sales of electric cars is encouraging”, but it will take many years to replace vehicles powered by diesel and gasoline.

Another part of the text reads: “For the UK to meet its successive carbon budgets under the 2008 Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, transport emissions should start to fall further quickly".

Stepping up measures in the UK

One of these measures advises that the owners of these vehicles only drive at 10 km/h, as less fuel is consumed that way. In addition, the decisive change of cars will not start for now, as the country is starting a process with several standards that should encourage people to follow this standard.

A point that draws attention in this story is the use of alternative transport, such as bicycles. and public transport, as another concern in the United Kingdom is the growth in sales of large automobiles, like SUVs. When will these actions take place?

For now, the plan follows without official date to start. It is not known for sure when these actions will be applied nor if there is confirmation that this will actually happen. in 2023, but the possibility of transitioning to electric vehicle models is even being studied by the government.
