To "increase productivity", boss removes office chairs

On social media, it is common for people to share stories related to their work environment. Some choose to share positive experiences, while others report abusive and controversial situations.

Recently, Reddit forum user @m_zayd told a rather boring story, so to speak. According to the forum owner, his boss decided to remove all the chairs from the workplace, claiming that wanted employees to sit down during breaks, with the aim of increasing productivity.

Is it forbidden to sit!?

Still according to the author of the post, he noticed the absence of chairs used by employees during downtime, while chairs intended for customers remained available.

All chairs used by employees during breaks have been removed, with the exception of one only chair reserved exclusively for the store owner, as indicated by a sign attached.

The Redditor even shared a photo of a folded chair with a note that made it clear that its use was not allowed to employees. Look:

In the online discussion, one participant expressed the opinion saying that it was to “decrease productivity”, and not the other way around, as was supposedly proposed by the company.

Another forum member questioned why productivity should be increased during the employee breaks, and not even employees could rest to be able to produce more.

Finally, a third individual commented that these measures could contribute to dehumanizing the work of employees of the company mentioned in the post.
