Educational research with music
Initially, they did not reach the main objective of creating a relationship between music and teaching, but they achieved considerable results to move forward with the investigation. In the tests with songs, the children did not make so many mistakes in the activities that were proposed and also indicated a preference for studying in this way.
Camila Mendes, occupational therapist and study coordinator, informed that there was no direct and objective result in the case and did not observe any difference in teaching with or without music for children with ADHD, but commented that the errors were minors.
“However, they made less mistakes doing it with music. Therefore, our perception is that, perhaps, the direct effect of music is not specifically on attention. Maybe it makes them more motivated to achieve, more excited and interested in doing well in that 'game'. So, they end up making less mistakes”, commented coordinator Camila Mendes.
The motivation that occurs through the fine can also be applied in the act of reading, as there are some studies that point to the relationship between listening to music and stimulating attention. However, these studies also did not follow through.
“That is, include a favorite song of the child, as long as it does not contain lyrics and has a positive meaning, which the child like it, it can increase motivation and reduce the rate of errors in your activities”, concluded the coordinator of the search.

The occupational therapist was the coordinator of the project, which also had a music specialist. They informed that the main objective was to verify the musical influence as a strategy to help in education.
They also pointed out that the music needed to be known by them to demonstrate a good relationship. When selecting the songs, they questioned the volunteers of the experiment to find out which were their favorite songs.
The test was carried out with 76 boys, with a minimum age of 10 years and a maximum age of 12 years; 34 of these had been diagnosed with ADHD and 42 had not yet been diagnosed. They were separated by socioeconomic status, between middle and lower class, and age. According to coordinator Camila, males have higher rates of the disorder.
