According to Buzzfeed, Coke stopped producing the drink because it was not reaching the numbers expected by the company and decided to focus on other forms of soda. Their efforts went into millennial-focused products like the 'Zsty Blood Orange', 'Twisted Mango', 'Feisty Cherry' and the 'Ginger Lime' along with modernizing the cans. These versions have not yet arrived in Brazil.
Although Coke Lime is similar to 'Ginger Lime', consumers claim that the taste is not the same. It seems that customers are not always right, as Coca-Cola has been turning down all orders since it stopped producing the soda. In fact, that wasn't the only product that customers miss.
The cherry-flavored soda was announced and did not last long, production was stopped in 2020, a little over 3 years ago. ‘New Coke’, later named Coke II, first marketed in 1985, also stopped being manufactured in 2002. Really, we know that some products on the shelves are missing.
Since we're talking about nostalgia, here's another lemon-flavored product that Brazilians keep asking for a return: Lemon Trakinas. The flavor of childhood for many left a nostalgic mark that turns and moves someone remembers. Next to the lemon flavor, it had the banana and red fruit flavors, literally colorful.
Favoritism falls entirely to the lemon flavor of Trakinas and can easily be present in a nostalgic conversation.
