Ingredients
- 1 French bread;
- 5 slices of roast beef;
- 5 slices of mozzarella cheese;
- Tomato slices (to taste);
- Cucumber pickles (to taste);
- Salt (to taste);
- Oregano (to taste)
How to make
- Cut the French bread in half and remove the core from one of the bands;
- In the band with the core, add the roast beef, tomatoes, pickles, salt and oregano;
- To bake the cheese, place it in a baking dish and heat it in a bain-marie;
- Once melted, carefully remove the cheese from the pan and transfer it to the bread strip without the core;
- Then add the two slices of bread, the band with the cheese on top, and it's ready to serve.

Importance of bauru for the state of São Paulo
After the creation of bauru, its inventor had no idea how the sandwich would become popular. But the reality is that, in December 2018, the bauru sandwich was declared intangible heritage of the state of São Paulo, through Law n. 16,914/2018, sanctioned by the governor at the time, Márcio França.
