National holidays for the second half of 2023: which ones and when will they be?
The first to be celebrated after two intense months without a break will be Brazil's Independence Day, celebrated on September 7th. This year, the holiday will fall on a Thursday – get ready to prolong it!
After that, in October, we celebrate the Day of Our Lady, on the 12th. Another holiday that will fall on a Thursday – that is, another extended one!
In November, we will have two unmissable opportunities to rest – just like it was in April! The first holiday, All Souls' Day, will fall on November 2, also a Thursday.
already the holiday Proclamation of the Republic, 15, will fall on a Wednesday, breaking the week a little.
The last national holiday, very well known and expected by all, is on December 25th, Christmas, which will be on a Monday!
How is a holiday defined?
In our country, the National holidays they are constituted by a federal law, and may have a civil origin – as in the case of Independence Day – or religious origin – as in the case of the Day of Our Lady.
However, each state or municipality, separately, may elect some dates during the year to proclaim holidays. In addition, there are so-called optional points – which may or may not be given as a day of rest by companies.
As optional points, we have as an example the much loved Carnival, Corpus Christi and, also, the Day of Black Consciousness (20/11). Not all municipalities consider these days to be public holidays.
Now that you know when the next rest days will be, make an appointment at the agency and plan to enjoy a lot!
