At the time of the dinosaurs, 100 million years ago, there were many animals. In the construction of the food chain there were different predators, and many are still present on Earth today, among them the crocodile. In the region of outback Australian, a fossil of a crocodile was found, which caused astonishment in the team, because it had fed on a dinosaur.
It was a surprise because, theoretically, this fact escapes the food chain. Read our article and understand this curiosity archaeological.

Scientists are still surprised by archaeological finds
In the year 2010, there was a paleontological study looking for dinosaur bones in a rock formation. Among the researchers on the team was Matt White, a scholar at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs museum, and he said, in an interview to AllThat’sInteresting, that the species found had not yet been documented and that it represented a great discovery historical. Also, something really stood out: the animal had fed on a dinosaur, which was something unexpected.
The species of crocodile found was called the Confractosuchus sauroktonos, which means "the broken dinosaur killer". He was a freshwater animal and was approximately 2.5 meters and, according to the researchers, would have grown even more. Its skull was almost complete, but the animal was missing its tail and limbs. Archaeologists were only able to identify what he ate because his abdominal contents were preserved.
The dinosaur consumed was a herbivore, from the group of dinosaurs called ornithopods. The size of this animal is similar to that of a chicken, and White stated that this was possibly too tempting a meal for the reptilian to pass up.
This finding is surprising because it is not in the order of the food chain. The find is on display at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum, which has the largest arsenal of Australian dinosaurs in the world.
