STF decision on nursing salary floor
Minister Barroso concluded that the minimum wage should be paid to all public sector workers with funds from states and municipalities, with transfers from the federal government.
In this way, the Union will be able to use parliamentary amendments to open a supplementary credit for the payment of transfers. This will cover any possible problems that may happen with the payment.
The Federal Government had already advanced and opened a special credit of R$ 7.3 billion to guarantee the initial payment of the floor – although this amount will not cover the difference national.
Nursing salary floor will be readjusted only for public authorities
However, the victory is segmented only for states, municipalities and federal road workers. Regarding the professionals who work for private companies, Minister Barroso pondered that, with a high risk of layoffs, the readjustment for the minimum salary will be through collective negotiations between the companies and the unions.
According to the minister,
“By only allowing the value foreseen by the national legislator to be superseded by a forecast in a different sense eventually constant from collective norm, the law is implemented in favor of the integrality of the category and, at the same time, the risks of dismissals and closing of beds are avoided”, he said.
