In recent months, much has been discussed about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for the development of projects that were previously done only by humans. Before this AI tool from Google, there were already other programs that used the technology to write songs, but MusicLM intends to take the task of composing songs by programs to a more complex and complete level. That's because the AI received more than 280,000 hours of music training to be able to compose.

Therefore, this tool will use previous data to compose arrays. Therefore, the creator will need to prepare a base text, which will serve as a guide on the content of the music, as well as choosing a genre. From this information, the AI will look for melody references to write a supposedly new song.

There is also the possibility of choosing an instrument that is predominant in the creation of the melody. It does not stop there! It will also be possible to choose the duration of the song, which can be either a shorter jingle or a vignette, but even a song that is several minutes long.

The implications of MusicLM

Despite this being an entirely new and exciting creation, there are some criticisms being leveled at this production.

To begin with, there are those who say that noticeable flaws are seen in the quality of the melodies and even in the vocals, which can be distorted. It is argued that there is a distortion in the voices, which makes everything unpleasant to hear.

It also takes into account the fact that it is not exactly an unreleased song, as the AI uses several references, which includes plagiarism. About 1% of music it is direct plagiarism, which can lead to legal fights and hinder the commercial circulation of the songs. Still, the novelty managed to excite many technology lovers.
