As Brazilians, we are privileged to witness the eclipse, even if in certain regions the spectacle is only partial. However, it is important to highlight that the event will be accessible to the entire country.

According to astronomers, the last such eclipse happened in 2021, but was limited to Arctic observation.

After all, what is an annular eclipse?

It is a phenomenon where the Moon aligns itself between the Earth and the Sun, however, it does not completely hide the star's disk. The big difference between this type of eclipse and the solar one is that the Moon appears to be smaller than the Sun, leaving a ring, called a ring of fire, around it.

This event occurs due to the orbit of the Moon around the Earth that, at some point, the natural satellite becomes more distant, thus resulting in an apparently smaller size. It is at this time that she is not able to fully cover the star from the solar system.

Experts advise wearing sunglasses or projection devices if you want to watch the eclipse. Regarding the frequency of the two phenomena, the annular happens much less when compared to the solar one.

Where can I see the event?

If you were curious to see this astronomical show, the best regions will be the South, Southeast and Midwest. To do this, look to the sky on October 14th at 3 pm. The best scenario is a non-rainy climate. This event can last up to four minutes.
