O Google announced several updates recently. Last Tuesday (3), the company reported that it will launch a token authentication system. “One Tap” will allow access to websites and services without having to enter a password.

The novelty is included in the API (software development package) of the new Google Identity Services. The platform connects several identification systems used by Google in one place. The traditional login mode is part of the system and, like One Tap, uses tokens. These are keyword substitutes.
“We started this journey to provide an identity solution without compromising privacy and security, and we achieved just that," said Google Identity product manager Filip Verley. The information was disclosed by the ZDNet portal and replicated by Canal Tech.
According to Varley, the API will be easy to integrate and will ensure intuitive use of the tool.
Tool allows faster login
One Tap works as its name suggests. With a single click, the user confirms the identity and login of his Google account. A window opens and invites the navigator to remain using his account data. When confirming, the application or service already recognizes Google's data regarding that person.
The new function resembles the currently existing login options. Thus, it is not necessary to perform several logins on different screens for each new access. With just one touch, the account adapts and connects to the software in question.

In addition, Google has also launched the new “Login with Google” button. The objective is to show the user the places where his account was connected. “The Login with Google button has also improved UI/UX consistency across the web, boosting user confidence and security across our platform,” said the company's manager.
Although the change came to strengthen issues related to security, some negative points were highlighted. One Tap does not yet support Safari or the other Apple browsers present on iOS or macOS. This is due to the blocking of third-party cookies installed by Apple itself.
