As reported by the Diario de Escolhas portal, Émile was last seen in the mountain village of Haut-Vernet, in the southern Alps of France.
The child playedin the garden of his grandparents' house, located about two kilometers from the city, where he spent a few days on vacation. After that, his absence was noticed and reported to the authorities.

After the grandparents warned about the disappearance of the boy around 6 pm, information emerged from two witnesses who claimed to have seen the
childwalking down a street around 5:15 pm, before losing sight of her. These testimonies are extremely important for ongoing investigations.A press conference held on Monday, 48 hours after Émile's disappearance, showed that reports from numerous people were being collected.
Authorities work diligently to gather as much information as possible and explore every possibility, from the most harmless disappearance to something more serious.
The searches were started immediately on the same Saturday night. In order to cover a wider area, all the houses close to the event site were searched in detail, with the exception of two houses that are abandoned.
