O Titanic movie returns to theaters today, February 9, in 3D. Released 25 years ago, the feature film was a phenomenon at the time. The production grossed 2.1 billion dollars worldwide, making it the third highest grossing in the history of the movie theater.
The feature film addresses the collision of the Royal Mail Steamer (RMS) Titanic with an iceberg and subsequent sinking on April 15, 1912. The Titanic was considered the largest and most luxurious passenger ship in the world.
In addition to this event, the film Titanic shows a fictional side: the love story of Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater, two young people who, in just four days of travel, fall in love. The dramatic ending has been known to the world for 25 years: the good guy dies of hypothermia and the girl survives. At age 88, Rose narrates the story.

The movie Titanic opened in theaters in early 1998. At the time, young people and adults crowded movie sessions in malls and other spaces. The feature film was so disputed that some viewers had to sit on the floor. Some were so fans of the production that they even saw it more than once.
Titanic won several awards, including 11 statuettes from the oscar, including Best Picture of 1998. James Cameron, known for the film "Avatar", also won the statuette for best director.
At the time just over 20 years old, the actors interpreting Jack (Leonardo Di Caprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet) became renowned and famous actors for working in various productions.

History of the Titanic Ship
Construction of the Titanic began in 1909 in Northern Ireland and was delivered in 1911. The ship was the second in a series of three ocean liners belonging to the White Star Line company.
It is estimated that the cost of building the RMS Titanic was 7.5 million dollars at the time. Considering that the ship was completed in 1911, the current value, corrected according to the inflation, would be over 234 million dollars.

A history of the sinking of the Titanic It began on April 10, 1912, when more than 2,200 people boarded the ship in the port of Southampton, England, bound for New York City. Four days later, the ship collided with a iceberg and sank at 2:20 am on April 15, 1912.
More than 1,500 lives were lost in the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Among those killed in the accident was the ship's captain, whose body was not recovered. The ship that came to rescue the passengers and crew of the RMS Titanic left the scene at 8:50 am, with 705 survivors.
Wreck of the RMS Titanic
You Titanic ship wreckage were discovered on September 1, 1985, by oceanographers Jean-Louis Michel and Robert Ballard. The discovery came 73 years after the ship sank.
The remnants of the transatlantic are found at a depth of 3800 meters and are in an advanced state of deterioration caused by sea salt, responsible for the corrosion process of the pieces, and by the colonies of bacteria who consume iron and who settled in the wreckage.
According to an investigation done by National Geographic after the discovery of the wreckage, the Titanic broke in half before sinking.
