Posture at study time

All jobs need correct ergometry. It is necessary to take care of our posture in all activities performed, as a wrong posture can result in serious injuries. In fact, postural education should be learned and exercised from childhood, in order to reduce the number of adults with diseases caused by poor posture, as in the case of RSI, since most of these complications originate in childhood or adolescence.

To study in a healthy way, a comfortable chair with rounded edges should be used, so as not to compromise blood circulation in the lower limbs. The seat should be at a height where the child has their arms resting on the table or chair support. A footrest is also needed. Students should be seated with their thighs parallel to the floor and their knees bent. The spine must remain straight, forming a 90º angle. This posture is very important for the person to sit on the sitting bones, the bones responsible for piling up the spine.

One of the obstacles to good posture in the classroom is the fact that chairs are standardized, regardless of the height and weight of the students. It is recommended that parents seek medical help when they notice that their children have any change in posture or complaining of back pain.

A study carried out by physiotherapist Patrícia Lacombe in four Brazilian cities showed that 21% of the population between 18 and 27 years old already has some type of problem in the spine.
