Sleeping little is bad?

Many people say that the solution to all problems is a good night of sleep. Unfortunately, sleeping doesn't solve all the complicated situations in our lives, but it certainly does.positively affects our health. So often, really to sleep is the best medicine.

But, after all, what are the problems triggered by sleepless nights?

Sleepless nights generate a lot of problems in our body. Damages noticed immediately after a night of inadequate sleep are: difficulty concentrating, indisposition, decreased productivity and creativity, reduced memory capacity and emotional instability. These problems directly affect a person's life, leading, for example, to errors in the work performed by the person.

In addition to the problems that are immediately noticed, there are other damages that can be noticed after a series of nights of reduced sleep. Among the most reported problems, we can mention: weight gain, increased risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems and premature aging

. In addition, there are works that indicate that irregular nights sleep can lead to development of cancer, since interference with our biological clock can increase the risk of disease.

It is also worth noting that relatively common diseases, such as flu and colds, occur more frequently in people who have problems sleeping. This is because sleep also affects our immune system, which is compromised when we sleep little.

How long should we sleep at night?

The ideal sleep time varies from person to person. It is generally accepted that the perfect amount of hours is the one that makes the individual wake up well the next day. Those who feel good with less than seven hours a day are called short sleepers, while long sleepers are those who need more than 8 hours of rest. For a large part of the population, however, the recommendation is that the sleeping time is between 7 and 8 hours.

What can I do to improve my nights sleep?

There are several recommendations for a person to have more pleasant nights. The first one is to establish a fixed time to sleep and wake up, always avoiding taking naps daytime. Another important point is to create a pleasant sleeping environment, reducing noise, light intensity and controlling the room temperature.

Taking care of food is also important, and it is essential that meals do not take place around bedtime. Not drinking coffee, caffeine-containing teas and soda around bedtime will also help you get a more restful night's sleep.

ATTENTION:When attempts to get a restful night's sleep fail, it's critical to see a doctor to see if anything is wrong. Problems like sleep apneas and insomnia need special attention.
