The federal government sets the minimum wage yearly in late December or early January. However, the Ministry of Economy makes some estimates of the national floor during the year.
About the minimum wage value in 2023, a novelty is that the new value is already included in the Bill of Budgetary Guidelines (LDO), which was sent to Congress.

What will the minimum wage be next year?
First, it should be noted that the value of the minimum wage takes into account macroeconomic indices such as GDP (Gross Domestic Product), IPCA (Extended Consumer Price Index) and the INPC (National Consumer Price Index), as they are strong indicators used to measure the inflation.
So far, the expectation is that inflation will reach 8.1% in 2022. If this index is maintained until the end of the year, the minimum wage in 2023 will be BRL 1,310, that is, an increase of R$ 98 compared to this year's value of R$ 1,212.
Will there be real gain with the 2023 minimum wage?
This increase in the value of the national floor will not provide a real increase for Brazilians, since the salary increase will only be a replacement for inflation. Thus, the workers will only maintain their purchasing power, which is no longer very high.
For a better understanding, know that the consumer's purchasing power only increases when the national floor suffers readjustment above the accumulated inflation achieved in the previous one, but this is something that has not occurred in Brazil since 2019.
Adjustment impacts
As a good part of the population already knows, the value of the minimum wage serves to determine the values of benefits, wages and allowances. In this sense, the INSS, for example, is unable to grant an allowance lower than the national minimum for its insured persons.
In this way, the PIS/Pasep wage bonus, unemployment insurance and the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC) are directly influenced by the minimum wage. According to the Ministry of Economy, for every R$1 increase in the minimum wage, there is an impact of R$389.3 million on the federal budget.
