What is filing?
The record is a record made in cards, where you can simply gather quotes or include topics and expose a critical analysis of a given text.
In the listing, the main ideas of a content are summarized - which can be a book, or part of it, a magazine article and a journalistic report, for example.
As the ideas you consider the main ones may not be the same for everyone, if you compare it with someone else's filing of the same text, you'll notice that the result is a particular job; after all, it reflects the aspects valued by each person individually.
Used as a personal study technique, and very useful as a TCC research methodology, it also serves to organize presentations.
How to make a record?
To make a record, you must have the first contact with the text through a brief reading. This dynamic reading will help you find your way around and know what the content of the text you want to record is about.
After that first impression, take several readings. While doing this, gather the main information in an organized way and remove quotes with the appropriate indications of where they can be found in the texts
THE record structure is: header, bibliographic reference and text, where you must write the main content.
The registration can be done manually in forms, in notebooks or in computer support.
Adopt the form that you find most practical. Remember that if the registration is a task requested by a teacher, it is important to follow the rules of the ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Norms).
Types of registration
There are three types: citation annotations, textual annotations and bibliographic annotations.
citation record
A record that consists of gathering the most important phrases cited in a text. Therefore, they must be transcribed in quotation marks.
Special care must be taken to ensure that quotations make sense, especially when parts of sentences are omitted. In this case, you must use an ellipsis in brackets [...] or parentheses (...).

Textual or summary statement
File in which the main ideas are inserted, but in your own words, although quotations can also be used.
Ideas should be organized according to the order in which they appear in the text. You must express your opinion and even make your own schemes.
This type of tagging is also called reading or content tagging.

bibliographic record
Filing in which the selected ideas, and which express personal opinion, are inserted by themes with the proper indication of their location in the text.
