In the midst of these situations, we have the opportunity to get to know ideas that are similar to ours and also those that are opposite. But, have you ever thought if everyone had the same opinion on a certain subject? Certainly there would be no fun, because it is through the exchange of experiences that we can expand our knowledge and also grow as a person, endowed with our own opinions.
All these statements serve as an example for us to understand the characteristics of another textual genre, only which this time with one of extreme importance: the fact of belonging to orality, that is, it only manifests itself through the speech.
We can watch a debate on television, Internet and live. Do you know where? At school, when the subject of the class leads us to a discussion. With, for example, how about we discuss the violence that exists in society today? Certainly, infinite opinions will be addressed.
A very important aspect that we must keep in mind is the fact that before we express our opinions on whatever the subject, we need to be aware of all the aspects that are in it. involved. For example, how are we going to debate a recent event that is taking place? At the very least, we would be embarrassed if we had nothing to say, would you? So, for this not to happen, we must always be aware of everything, reading newspapers watching television programs and talking to people who always have something to teach us.
As for the language used in this genre, it usually varies, that is, it can be formal, depending on the situation, or informal, as is the case of a debate in a meeting of friends. The fact is that debating does not mean fighting, disagreeing with other people's ideas, on the contrary, it is a time when we express our ideas and respect others' ideas. With that, we grow with other people and we help them grow too.
