Communication between people is done in several ways: through speech, gestures, letters, emails, computer conversations, among others. In all these cases, one person sends a message and the other receives it.
During this communication, we change roles, sometimes being senders, sometimes receivers.
Newspapers, magazines, radio and television are also ways of communicating, called means of communication. However, with these we have no way of interacting, switching roles, as we do when talking to someone.
The sense organ that allows us to hear news or conversations is hearing. However, some people are born with hearing problems, not being able to hear clearly, and others, not hearing anything. As a result, speech is also impaired, and it is not uncommon for it to be undeveloped.
Libras - sign language
These people usually communicate through gestures, their own language, made through signs. This language is callednothing Brazilian Sign Language, more knowgone as POUNDS.
In the pound language, each letter of the alphabet has its own sign, which is represented with a different hand movement.
In this way, people memorize these signs and talk by writing the words in the air, letter by letter. Those who are more used to it can make gestures that represent whole words or sentences, which facilitates communication, making it more agile. But this requires a lot of training.
Some schools already teach the language in pounds, in order to facilitate communication between teachers, students and the hearing impaired. It is a way of working with social inclusion, as these students find ways to participate and interact with the activities and people involved.
Hearing impaired people also learn to read other people's lips. We can talk normally to them, who can read our words, but respond through gestural signals.
