Heterosemic nouns. What are heterosemic nouns?

We already know a lot about nouns, but like this noble language we speak – the Portuguese language – it has great surprises for us, it is not surprising that all the time there are more and more novelties. Even because the class represented by the nouns is characterized as one of the most complex, especially when it comes to inflections, right?

So, how about getting to know a little more about a subject that still needs to be incorporated into our rich knowledge? Yes, himself, the so-called heterosemic nouns. Do you know why they are so called? It's simple, because they have two meanings: one male and one female.
We just have to meet them, don't you think? So let's go!!!

The characteristic of heterosemic nouns is that there is a meaning for the feminine gender and another for the masculine
the head = the leader
The head = part of the human cup
The cashier = employee of a commercial establishment
the box = object
The gram = mass unit of measure
The grass = grass

The guide = person who guides

The tab = document
morale = spirit

The moral = set of rules of conduct
The radio = apparatus; name of a bone in the human body; chemical element
Radio = broadcaster, station
the violet = color
The violet = flower
