You've certainly heard about the dreaded Tyrannosaurus rex (Tyrannosaurus rex)! Who has never been frightened by the attacks of the dangerous T. rex in the movie Jurassic Park? This animal lived about 65 million years ago and is undoubtedly one of the best known and most admired dinosaurs.
the first bones of the Tyrannosaurus rex were discovered in 1900 in the United States. Today there are still few specimens discovered, and, in most cases, only bone fragments are found and attributed as being from this animal. The most preserved of all the specimens is the one of sue, which contains about 80% of your skeleton preserved!
This giant had about 60 huge teeth, reaching up to more than 20 centimeters. If your tooth was already big, imagine its length. A specimen was found that had an incredible 13 meters, from the snout to the end of the tail. The head of this animal alone reached more than 1.5 meters and its height could reach up to 6.5 meters! Studies suggest that females were relatively larger than males.
An interesting fact is that the T. rex had very small and disproportionate forelegs. No doubt this may have been an unfavorable fact for hunting.

The doubt about his abilities as a hunter is linked to the fact that his small arms could make it difficult for this animal to get up after a fall during an attack, for example.
But one thing is a fact, the T. rex it had the strongest bite of any other animal on the planet. Researchers found that each little tooth in our dinosaur was capable of exerting a pressure of six tons. Compare that to the bite of a crocodile, which weighs approximately 900 kg. Plus, with a big head and such a heavy body, it's easy to believe he could easily win a battle.
There is also much debate about the ability of these animals to run. Some researchers suggest they would reach up to 50 km/h. However, others claim that, given their weight, it would be impossible for them to run so fast.
These animals, like other dinosaurs, laid eggs. They were probably buried in the sand and not hatched. It is believed that the nests were made in very well protected places, due to the lack of fracture marks in these animals when they were young.
O Tyrannosaurus rex it was, without a doubt, an extremely fascinating animal. However, if you think about it, it was better that we didn't live at the same time as they did!
