Action or linking verb? Action or link?

Surely action verbs as well as connecting verbs are nothing new to you, are they?

Well, the linking ones, as you could check through the text "linking verbs”, are those that indicate state, way of being of the subject.

Remembering these concepts, we would like you to know that the same verb can sometimes be a link, sometimes an action. Do you know what will determine whether one or the other? Have you heard about the little word context?

If not, know that it refers to the situation, the circumstance in which a particular prayer is expressed, a particular communicative situation. So, in order to properly recognize whether a verb is a linking or an action verb, let's look at the following examples together:

Mommy turned a beast.
Here we have a mother's state of being, that is, referring to the way she presented herself in a given situation. In this way, we say that the verb is a linking verb.

the little dog turned the table.
Obviously, this is an action performed by the puppy. Thus, we say that it is an action verb.
