Litigation is a legal term to designate when there is divergence between the parties to the action, when any demand is placed in court. Once the lawsuit has been filed, the plaintiff files the request and the defendant must respond. It is at this point that litigation begins.

Litigation occurs when there is a Conflict of interests, and this pendency can be resolved with a lawsuit or also by consensual. The latter are cases where the plaintiff and the defendant reach an agreement on the terms that have entered into the dispute.
