Congruent is an adjective attributed to everything what coincides or corresponds to something in characteristics, properties, attributions, etc.
It refers to a feature that expresses similarity between two particular subjects or that is coherent, appropriate, and pertinent.
Example: "These are the results of a survey congruent with current political and social circumstances".
The term can also refer to something that is corresponding, harmonic, or appropriate for its intended purpose.
Examples:
"These substances are congruent".
"We found a congruent solution to your problem".
"The elements of your text are not congruent".
For mathematics, congruent is a characteristic attributed to figures that derive from one another, through circular transformation.
For example, in geometry, two figures are congruent if they have the same shape and size. Two geometric sets will be congruent only if one of them can be transformed into the other through isometry, a combination of translations, rotations, and reflections.
Also for mathematics, congruent is a characteristic attributed to numbers that, when divided by the same number, have the same rest result.
congruent angles
Also for geometry, two angles of a figure can be congruent if, when superimposed on one another, all their elements coincide. They can also have the same opening, as shown in the figure below:

A good example is parallelograms, where the parallel sides are congruent and the two angles opposite by the vertex are always congruent too.
