Conception is the feminine noun meaning the act or effect of conceive or generate a being in the uterus. It can also be a synonym for understanding, perception or concept.
Most of the time, the word conception is related to fertilization and consequent pregnancy. According to medicine, it consists of the set of changes that occur in the egg and in the mother's body at the beginning of pregnancy. What is considered the exact moment of conception occurs when the sperm fertilizes the egg, and gestation begins.
Within the scope of psychology of thought, a conception can also indicate a general notion or the ability to understand or create an idea, a way of seeing or feeling. Thus, the general ideas and creative thoughts of the imagination can be qualified as conceptions.
According to the philosophy, the conception refers to the act of elaborating concepts. This act begins with understanding the essence of an object and culminates in the elaboration of a concept. Thus, a conception is also the result of someone's intelligence, and often contributes to the formation of different theories.
The worldview consists of the conception that human beings have of the world, represents the way in which Man understands and explains his purpose in the world, both individually and historically.
Education and development design
There are several methods and ways to approach education, with concepts traditional or progressives, which represent different perspectives.
Furthermore, the general theory of education proposes two different conceptions: one organic is mechanist. THE organic design addresses the human being as an organism that can be changed from within, based on stimuli. On the other hand, the mechanistic conception it contemplates the human being as a machine, whose attitudes can be changed through external stimuli.
Psychology also indicates different theories of development, more specifically the innate theory (notion that the basic aspects, characteristics or aptitudes of the human being are innate - such as personality, values, behavior, etc.); environmental theory (also known as behavioral theory, indicating the importance of its surrounding environment to mold their behavior, taking away the importance of the individual's reasoning, feelings and desires) and interactionist theory (development occurs thanks to the interaction between the individual and their surroundings, which influence each other).
