Meaning of Conjuncture (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Conjuncture is the set of events at a given time. These are circumstances and occasions that collectively influence certain aspects, whether economic, historical, social, political, among others.

Conjunctural is what is part of the conjuncture. Circumstantial facts or elements are those events that belong to the complete picture which is called the conjuncture.

THE analysis of the situation helps to better understand the conditions in that particular period, so that no single event has an isolated meaning, in order to understand that situations are influenced by others.

The word conjuncture is also used in informal language to refer to a unfavorable circumstance, for example in the sentence: "In the current situation, I'm not able to choose work. I accept what appears".

Among the words that serve as synonym for conjuncture they are: context, scope, circumstance, environment, condition, situation, scenario, episode, occurrence, event.

In the sense of the unfavorable situation, among the synonyms are: tightness and difficulty.

Economic situation

When we talk about the economic situation, we mean the events related to the finances and economy of the object to which it refers. The Brazilian economic situation during the Collor Government, for example, was the confiscation of savings and financial assets of small and medium investors, a price freeze and the consequent economic downturn, which generated an increase in inflation and a freeze on salary.

This was what generated dissatisfaction both on the part of the business community and the workers, it influenced directly the political situation and culminated with the corruption scandals and the impeachment process of the President.

Conjuncture or Conjecture

Conjuncture and conjecture are not synonymous. The situation refers to a situation or circumstance, such as the "current Brazilian political situation".
