The stillborn is the living being that is not “born” alive, that is, it is no longer alive when it leaves the mother's body.
However, there are some factors that must be considered for the fetus to be classified as stillborn and not a miscarriage.
- Pregnancy of 20 weeks or more;
- Height equal to or greater than 25 centimeters;
- Fetal body weight equal to or greater than 500 grams;
If the dead fetus meets any of these requirements, it can already be considered stillborn.
