A salute is a greeting, a courtesy. When someone asks for "a round of applause" they are asking to applaud, that is, to greet something or someone.
The word saved is related to the firing of firearms. Generally used by the armed forces at parties and honors, the salvo is the simultaneous discharge of shots. The same term used in combat, as in the example: "the invaders of the fort were received with a salvo of cannons".
Salva can also be an inflection of the verb to save. Being "safe and sound" means that the person is well and safe, that is, safe, in a protected place and in good health. The expression is generally used to refer to people who have properly arrived at their destinations, such as: "Mariana arrived from her trip safe and sound".
The silver sage, on the other hand, is a kind of tray made of metal, rich in details and shown in the Biblical passage “like apples of gold in sages of silver, so is the word spoken in its season”, Proverbs 25:11. The meaning of this proverb is related to the appreciation of choosing the moment to speak, in which the right word at the right time is a beautiful and noble attitude.
