Mocreia is a pejorative Brazilian slang, used to refer to a woman who is very ugly, clumsy, ungainly and boring.
In Brazilian popular culture, mocreias are old women, devoid of beauty, and who are also usually ignorant, boring and always in a bad mood.
The mocree are always associated with witches or, to make an animal analogy, with venomous snakes.

Many people have doubts about the correct spelling of the word mocreia, since in some dictionaries the version with an acute accent appears: mocreia.
According to the rule of the Orthographic Agreement of the Portuguese Language (AO 1990), which entered into force since 2009, in all paroxytone words, the acute accent no longer exists in the open diphthongs éi and ói.
So, in this context, the word mocreia is now spelled without the accent.
